Early on in my journalism career, I was lucky enough to work on a project that was nominated for the highest award in journalism – the Pulitzer Prize. It didn’t win, but it was still a thrill to be nominated.

Surprisingly enough, in 2017, I was part of another Pulitzer-nominated project, and this time it took home the prize.

My role on this project was to help lead the design efforts of our talented visuals team, and help get things done. There were a lot of late nights put in, to manipulate the content management system, in order to get this to look as good as it does – but it was worth it.

I helped art direct some screens and designed others outright, but it was a true team effort, and I’m proud of the work that everyone did on this project.
